Summer Residence

Summer residents enjoy the convenience and comfort of living in Joan Foley Hall. Residence life activities and events provide opportunities for residents to engage with their peers and help them feel at home in a safe, fun, and inclusive community.
 
Summer residence is available from TBD. Full semester and partial semester stays (minimum of four weeks) are offered. There is no minimum course load to stay in summer residence.
 

To qualify to apply as a summer residence student, you must be either:

• A current University of Toronto student
• A visiting student from any post-secondary institution that is studying or working in the Toronto area over the summer

  • For short-term stays, apply at least one week prior to your requested move-in date

How to apply as a current University of Toronto student

  1. Log in to the Student Housing Portal.
  2. Obtain a password for the Portal by inputting your student ID and then clicking “obtain/forgot password.” Your password will be emailed to the address on file.
  3. Select the Applications tab, and click on the UTSC summer application.
  4. Complete the application, which includes e-signing the Summer 2018 Residence Agreement and submission of a non-refundable $100.00 deposit by credit card.

How to apply as a visiting student

  1. Email us with your name, name of your home institution, photo of your student ID card, and anticipated stay dates. We will send a username and password for the Student Housing Portal for you to complete your online application.
  2. Log in to the Student Housing Portal.
  3. Select the Applications tab, and click on the UTSC summer application.
  4. Complete the application, which includes a passport-style colour photo (used for community development and emergency purposes), signing of the Residence Agreement, and submission of a non-refundable $100.00 deposit by credit card. 

Next steps

  • Room assignments will be sent the last week in April or within 2-3 business days of your deposit for shorter-term stays.
  • Changes can be made to your application until TBD. To make changes to your application for shorter-term stays, email us.
  • Payment will be collected in full on your move in date and can be made by credit card, debit card, or certified cheque/bank draft. Cash and personal cheques are not accepted. You must move into residence during office hours.
