Combined Degree Program, Mental Health Specialist H.BSc and Master of Social Work

This Combined Degree program is ideal for students interested in being involved in social work research during their undergraduate degree and who are considering a career in social work. The program combines a strong foundation in Mental Health Studies from UTSC with a Master of Social Work from U of T’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. This accelerated program provides a rich intellectual pathway for exceptional undergraduate students by providing access to social work research before the completion of the undergraduate degree. It offers students an opportunity to become equipped for evidence-informed social work practice, through a research course in fourth year co-supervised with a Faculty of Social Work faculty member. This exciting combination provides ideal preparation for a career in the health sciences or social work, offering the opportunity to begin research in undergraduate work that can be continued in graduate school.

Students who are registered in the UTSC Specialist or Specialist Co-op programs in Mental Health Studies can apply to this Combined Degree Program during Year 3 of their studies.
