Dr. Ramirez is a researcher at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. His work focuses on the use of neuroimaging to examine the overlap between cerebrovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and associated disorders causing dementia. More specifically, his current studies involve the systematic evaluation of neurovascular and neurodegenerative imaging biomarkers and their associations with cognition, risk factors, glymphatic perivascular clearance, and poor sleep quality - with the goal of improving clinical diagnostic technologies and their potential use for future disease modifying therapeutics.
