Voices from the Food Frontlines, Pandemic and Beyond
Join the Feeding City Lab for a live recording of the Voices from the Food Frontlinespodcast series, featuring Thiago Gomide Nasser of Junta Local. In this Q+A session,Thiago will share the story of how he came to co-found Junta Local, a Rio de Janeiro-based collective that promotes and distributes good, local, and fair food straightfrom small producers. We will delve into Junta Local’s participatory structure throughits modelo ajuntativo and learn about how online platforms can complement on-the-ground marketplaces. Thiago will also offer insight into how the Covid-19pandemic affected Rio de Janeiro’s food systems, and into Junta Local’s efforts tosupport short supply chains and the people that make them possible. The Q+Asession will be followed by informal open discussion.
