As the leaves start to fall and the spooky season approaches, we thought it would be a gourd-geous idea to get together for some pumpkin carving fun! 🍂🎃 It’s a great opportunity to showcase your artistic side as a lab and for us to get to know each other a bit more. Here are the details:

📅 Date: Tuesday October 31, 2023.

🕕 Time: 12-2 pm

🏠 Venue: Grad and Postdoc Lounge (SW524A)

🍔 Light refreshments will be provided

We’re hoping to provide at least one pumpkin + carving kit to each lab/group the week prior to Halloween for it to be carved on your own time, and brought to be put on display in the Grad Lounge on the day of the event. We will collect images of the carved pumpkins and circulate a survey after the event to vote for the best artist to receive a small prize.

If you’d like to participate but are coming from a small lab or your labmates are not able to participate with you, feel free to join another group/lab. But just let us know in the survey above so we can plan accordingly.

Don't miss this chance to mingle with your fellow grad students and post-docs, show off your carving skills, and create some spook-tacular pumpkin masterpieces. 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️👻 Costumes are optional but totally encouraged!

Event photos are available here.

If you have any questions, contact Arvin Persaud (arvin.persaud@mail.utoronto.ca).
