The New Frontiers Seminar Series (NFSS) is the University of Toronto Scarborough’s flagship seminar series, organized by graduate students, for graduate students, with the support of the Office of the Vice-Principal and Dean Academic.
This series aims to highlight and promote cutting-edge research, with a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration. Leading researchers from around the world are invited to showcase their most exciting new research alongside the best and brightest of UTSC’s resident faculty.
Each year, the UTSC community nominates academics for the upcoming series from any area of research based on quality, innovation, and collaboration. A subsequent graduate student vote finalizes the invitees for the coming year, maintaining the focus on a series that is, at its’ heart, centered on graduate student interests. The vibrant, interdisciplinary community at UTSC ensures that every year NFSS offers a line-up of fascinating speakers that will appeal to a broad audience.
