North America’s First Graduate Degree in Accounting and Finance
U of T Scarborough’s Master of Accounting and Finance (MAccFin) program delivers a world-class, practical educational experience that prepares students for both the CPA, CFA, and ACCA designations and provides additional real-world co-op experience.
- CPA, CFA & ACCA Designations: The 16-month, full-time program is accredited by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and the curriculum is based on the Candidate Body of Knowledge from the Chartered Financial Analyst Program administered by the CFA Institute. By completing the MAccFin, students will qualify for advanced standing in the Chartered Professional Accountant Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). As of January 1, 2020, U of T Scarborough students who successfully complete their MAccFin graduate degree will be eligible for direct entry to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Strategic Professional Level exams. Obtaining these in-demand, globally recognized and respected designations requires a commitment to higher standards of integrity and credibility, which can be essential to desirable employment.
- Well-Rounded Education: MAccFin students will have the ability to move successfully between careers in both accounting and finance, and will be well positioned for opportunities in consulting, project management, equity research, investment banking, transaction services, and corporate finance. Integration of advanced courses in accounting, finance, leadership, data analytics, and strategy enable students to ascend into positions of strategic decision-making and industry leadership.
