I chose UTSC Management because the program provides you with both a foundation in all the areas of business, and the ability to specialize in them. The specialist streams are also designed to help you meet the requirements of professional designations. What has been the highlight of your experience so far? I was pleasantly surprised by the flexibility of UTSC and the program, it is possible to study all year round or take some time off, study full-time or part-time, and there are many courses offered as web option, meaning they have recorded lectures. This means I could shorten my commute and also take a year off to go to China to study Mandarin. For others, it could mean completing a degree in 3 years’ time or while working. What are your goals after this program and how is this program helping you to achieve them? My goal is to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) working within the field of international business. By completing the Specialist (Co-operative) Program in Management and Accounting, I will be meeting the prerequisites for the designation and have gained experience auditing South American subsidiaries on my work term. What are your achievements to date? Some of my achievements include: my proficiency in four languages, being on the Dean’s List average, my diversity of work experiences, and a year abroad. What is the biggest hidden gem about the UTSC campus location? Not a hidden gem, but something not to miss is "The Finance Lab". It's an area with two monitors where workshops are held and where students can complete industry known finance certifications, free of charge. What are some of your favourite Management courses you have taken? "MGAB01" –The first accounting course I ever took. |
