Student Showcase

THE UTSC ENGLISH DEPARTMENT IS ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2018 WINTER TERM

Beginning in Winter 2018, the UTSC English Department will be featuring student works on the departmental website. Each month will offer a new rotation of student work that highlights the breadth, depth, and ingenuity of our students and our classrooms.

The Student Showcase is an excellent opportunity to see your work published online, and to engage in the crucial conversation about what we “do” in English.

ELIGIBILITY

Any student can submit their work, provided it was originally created as an assignment for a UTSC English course. Critical as well as creative works are eligible, and there is no length requirement — whether it's a D-level research paper or a pass/fail online journal entry, if you're proud of it, we want to see it! Each student is eligible to submit one (1) piece of work per calendar month.

REQUIREMENTS

• All works should be formatted clearly and cleanly, and proofread for errors and typos.

• Essays should adhere to MLA format with all external ideas properly cited.

• Editing your work from its original form to incorporate any instructor feedback is recommended to increase your likelihood of being chosen, but not necessary.

• Preferred file format is PDF, especially if your work contains images or special formatting.

Submission deadline: Rolling.

Chosen works will be announced each month, beginning in February 2018.
