4PM - 5:30PM: What's Cooking: Cook Hakka Food with Yueh Tung Restaurant

• With such a diverse population at UTSC, learning about different types of food can help facilitate intercultural learning. Through our cooking sessions, students are able to explore the relationship between food and culture from different perspectives. In this session, we will be cooking with Jeanette from Yueh Tung Restaurant. The recipe and grocery list will be shared via email to registrants two business days before the event.

• It’s too expensive. I’ll have to repeat the semester when I come back. Attend this session to learn the truth behind these common exchange myths and see how an exchange can help set you apart from your peers – and maybe even change your life.

5PM - 6:30PM: Real Talks: Viewing of 'Sing Me a Lullaby' - In Discussion with Director Tiffany Hsiung

• From Beyonce and #Brownskingirl, the social movement that is Area 51 to unpacking that highlighter on fleek, join us for a casual and engaging monthly conversation as we explore a variety of hot topics in pop culture through conversations and shared connections. For October, join us for a virtual viewing of "Sing Me a Lullaby" and a discussion on the film's themes of family, identity and belonging. This panel discussion will include the Director of the film, Tiffany Hsuing.

6PM - 7PM: Identities Abroad Workshop

• In this workshop, we will explore the ways our identities and our intersections can impact and influence our study abroad journeys. Join us to reflect upon how you can best prepare for the perception of your identities in new cultural contexts.
