Website Faculty Profile

Prof. Saber's research focuses on proactive solutions to ensure the sustainability and resilience of inland and coastal waters in the face of climate change and release of anthropogenic contaminants. This involves field measurements and lab experiments followed by modeling the mixing and transport of contaminants and associated biogeochemical reactions in receiving waters using 3D hydrodynamic-water quality models, machine learning, and statistical models. Another facet of his work is developing signal processing tools and ensembles of mechanistic and artificial intelligence models to assess climate change impacts on the hydrological cycle and risk of flooding due to extreme precipitation events and storm surges in coastal areas.
