Program Description: The African Impact Challenge (AIC) is a U of T–supported, youth-focused incubation program, in partnership with the African Impact Initiative, delivering education and advancement opportunities to early-stage, tech-focused entrepreneurs addressing community-defined needs (including positive health outcomes) at collaborating network institutions across 20 African countries. Through ongoing engagement with U of T faculty, students, alumni, and partners, the AIC seeks to continually expand its innovative research and support network. Program Description: The High Commission of Canada in South Africa is inviting proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) to support approximately 5-6 small-scale, high-impact projects in the country starting in or around July 2024. With an average contribution of $50,000 Canadian Dollars, the CFLI aims to align projects with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priorities, foster positive bilateral relations, and deepen contacts with local partners, emphasizing completion by February 28, 2025. Projects must be conceived predominantly by local partners and are subject to approval by the relevant Canadian embassy or high commission. Canada-CARICOM Faculty Leadership Program

Program Description: “The program enables professors at Canadian post-secondary institutions to pursue short-term research and/or teaching activities in Latin America and the Caribbean as a means of exploring, creating and advancing institutional partnerships in the areas of research, student mobility, joint programming, capacity building, and others.  The primary objective of the exchange is to create new institutional collaborations and/or to strengthen existing agreements between Canadian and non-Canadian post-secondary institutions eligible under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP).” Value: $7,000 maximum. Program Description:  The Scientific Collaboration Support Program will provide funding for new scientific projects jointly developed by French and Canadian teams that have never worked together before. Successful applicants are subject to receive funding from $8,000 to $15,000 CAD to two-year projects according to the needs expressed by the principal investigators. 90% of the fund will support the mobility of researchers and students affiliated with the project. Program Description: The Global Classrooms Funding Initiative, presented by the Centre for International Experience and the Office of the Vice President International, is now accepting applications with deadlines on March 8th, July 12th, and November 8th. This initiative supports instructors in funding their Global Classroom projects, fostering internationalized teaching and learning experiences through online collaborations. Global Classrooms aim to facilitate cross-cultural connections, allowing faculty and students to work closely with peers abroad. The initiative encourages diverse approaches, welcomes partnerships supporting underrepresented students, and extends eligibility to Sessional Lecturers with department chair support. Program Description: The Schwarzman Scholarship provides graduate students an opportunity to pursue a 11-month master's degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China's most prestigious universities.
