International and Global Engagement Vision

The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) pursues its international goals in line with its strategic plan: Inspiring Inclusive Excellence 2020-2025, as well as University of Toronto’s Three Priorities and International Strategic Plan (2022-2027). International goals are supported by a coordinated and strategic approach and by working closely with UTSC and U of T communities, partners, students, alumni, and Canadian and international partners.


International Aspirations as part of Inspiring Inclusive Excellence

The creation of Inspiring Inclusive Excellence plan includes international and global engagement aspirations that contribute to the vision of international engagement of the University and enhance the mission of UTSC. These includes but are not limited to:

  • improving our student mobility abroad, 
  • enhancing our internationalization at home activities by leveraging existing opportunities
    (Global Scholar, Global Citizenship, Global Classroom, student mobility, coop, research placement, etc.), 
  • incorporating international perspectives into the curriculum,
  • diversifying international student population, 
  • increasing the number of under-represented international students, 
  • facilitating the recognition of foreign credentials, 
  • opening new research institutes with an international dimension, 
  • partnering with alumni and supporters to advance scholarly endeavors, 
  • increasing international research partnerships and funding,
  • increasing inbound and outbound visiting scholars, 
  • expanding international partnerships that support international higher education, 
  • increasing international experiential learning opportunities, and 
  • facilitating opportunities for UTSC faculty members to participate in Global Research Alliance and International Doctoral Cluster and other global scholarly networks
