Outdoor Recreation

Come experience the serenity, peaceful and adventurous world of the great outdoors. Research suggests that being physically active outdoors helps reduce stress, anxiety, anger, and improves mood, overall health and wellbeing.  

Registration Steps:
Registered student prices are for UofT students taking Winter academic courses or those who have purchased a Winter non-registered student membership for the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.  Register online at recreation.utoronto.ca or in person at the TPASC Registration Desk. U of T students, staff and faculty will be able to log in to the new recreation website using their UTORid.

Non-registered student prices are for UofT students who are not taking Winter academic courses, along with UTSC Faculty, Staff and recent U of T grads.   To register, please contact Laurie Wright lwright@utsc.utoronto.ca.  Your email should include the trip details, student number (if applicable) and how you are associated to UofT.  External guests of participants are not eligible to attend Outdoor Recreation Trips unless space allows.

Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued 5 business days prior to the trip.  All trips are weather dependent and may be rescheduled or cancelled.  Full refunds will be given, upon request, for rescheduled trips.

For all trips that include being on boat or in the water, we are now providing a FREE deep water orientation session at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.  This one hour class will include jumping into the water with a life jacket on and getting to the edge of the pool safely.  No swim experience necesary.  To book your session, please contact Ramona Seupersad at seupersad@utsc.utoronto.ca

Please note that all Outdoor Recreation trips that include transportation will meet at the east entrance of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (875 Morningside Ave). This will be the pick up and drop off location.

Upcoming Adventures

Ski & Snowboard at Brimacombe

Learn to ski/snowboard or improve your skills on three evenings this winter at Brimacombe Ski Resort in North Oshawa.  Lessons are highly recommended for participants that have skied or snowboarded 5 times or less.  Rentals are available or you can bring your own equipment. Transportation and snacks are provided.  Wear appropriate winter attire.

Location: Brimacombe Ski Resort
Time: Leave at 3:30pm, return by 10:30pm
Registered Student Price:  $24 (lift ticket), $24 (equipment rental), $15 (1 hour lesson)

Arrowhead Provincial Park

Activities will include a choice of up to 4 winter activities: 1) Cross-country skiing  2) Skating  3) Snowshoeing  4) Snow Tubing.  All weather dependent.  Snacks, pizza dinner and transportation is included.  You must bring your own lunch and water bottle.  Dress appropriately for the activities.  Ski and skate rentals available at an extra cost or bring your own; snowshoes will be provided.

Location: Arrowhead Provincial Park, Huntsville
Time: Leave at 7:00am, return by 9:00pm
Registered Student Price:  $25
