Software Licensing
For UofT faculty and staff members, the UofT Licensed Software Office (LSO) has negotiated special pricing with many software vendors. Please see the LSO's website for a list of software available for purchase.
If the software package you are interested in is not available through the LSO your next stop should be the The U of T CampusComputerShop as they have academic pricing for many software applications.

Antivirus for home (simplify this section)Staff, faculty and students are encouraged to download Microsoft Security Essentials for home Windows computers. MSE is freely available for personal use. University-owned PCs and Macs should use System Centre 2012 Endpoint Protection available through the IITS Helpdesk. Please note, Windows 8 has the Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus program built-in; so right out of the box, a Windows 8 computer has this antivirus pre-installed (now called Windows Defender). Sophos Home Edition antivirus program is recommended for private/home Mac computers. |
