The responsibilities of the Office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean include oversight of faculty appointments and career progression, development and administration of academic policies, management of the academic budget, and development and review of academic departments and programs. Academic programming is a key driving force in the overall development of the U of T Scarborough campus. Integral to the success of this driving force, are the appointed Academic Administrators. Through the office, leadership in academic programming and services are provided, ensuring that the campus provides a positive, and academically excellent, environment that is responsive to change. 19 Academic Department Chairs report to the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean, meeting regularly throughout the academic year to discuss items to further enhance and strengthen efforts to meet the University's teaching, learning, and research mission.
