Reading Overview

One of the most distinguishing characteristics of university life is the amount of reading that a student will be expected to do for their courses. Course readings at the university level are often complex, dense with information, and lengthy. It can be hard to keep up with your course readings and can be frustrating if you do not have strategies or assistive technology to help you read efficiently. This is especially the case if your disability-related impacts interact with reading. This may include challenges such as reading comprehension, processing speed, and sounding out words.

You may need to utilize a variety of strategies such as reading outloud or using technology that reads outloud to you.  This section provides a range of options for you to try to increase reading comprehension and speed.
