At UTSC, we understand the challenge of maintaining a positive and healthy balance between personal, work and family life. We also recognize the role that both the employee and the workplace play in contributing to a positive work experience. As a result, we provide a wide range of supportive resources, information and assistance to employees through the following offices and program initiatives.

  • Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
Provides free short-term confidential counseling and referrals for employees and their dependants who may have personal, family and work-related concerns.

  • N'sheemaehn Child Care Centre
A not-for-profit child care centre established in 1990, located at the northeastern corner of the U of T Scarborough campus. Provides care for infants and children up to the age of 5.

  • U of T Family Care Office
Offers information, referrals, educational programming, and counselling. Also advocates family issues such as child and elder care, maternity/parental leave, flexible work arrangements, schools and children’s programs.

  • U of T Wellness
Works to integrate resources and services related to sick leave, occupational health, long term disability, workplace injuries and workplace accommodation for employees with disabilities.

  • Healthy Campus Initiative
The Healthy Campus Initiative strives to ensure that everything we do at the University of Toronto Scarborough, from teaching, research, extracurricular and co-curricular activities to the facilities and the grounds we design, build, and use, are health-enhancing.
