Experiential Learning Academic Liaison & Support Coordinator

Key Repsonsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the Experiential Learning Fund (ELF) 

  • Monitor the experiential learning (EL) inbox and triage inquiries as appropriate 

  • Update and maintain information and resources on the Experiential & Global Learning (EGL) SharePoint 

  • Alongside members of Team Xperience, provide consultations for faculty and staff regarding EL needs, available resources, recommendations, considerations, etc. 

  • Supervise the work of OVPD Co-op students supporting the EL portfolio  

  • Support the development of workflows and process improvement plans for the EL portfolio 

  • Liaise between administrative and academic units to provide EL information, resources and supports as needed 

  • EL course review and recommendations for academic departments 

  • Promote experiential and global learning and serve as a resource for faculty, staff and students at campus events 

  • Plan, organize and participate in various EL events and professional development opportunities 

Atiya Hamid joins the Office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean in the new role of Experiential Learning Academic Liaison & Support Coordinator working closely with our Experiential Learning Team lead by the Associate Dean Experiential & Global Learning.

Atiya hails from the Dean’s Office at University of Toronto Mississauga where she worked as their Experiential Learning Officer. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the development and implementation of curricular experiential learning opportunities across various academic programs and courses, while working closely with faculty, staff, student and community partners. 

Atiya returns back to UTSC also as an alumni.  She obtained her Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education and has previously taught in secondary schools in the Toronto District School Board.
