The Art of Machine Hacking

Do you want to make time fly? Or stop time altogether? Learn how to take an existing machine and alter how it operates. Bring a lamp, hand blender, flashlight, battery powered toy, fan, etc. that you are willing to destroy.

You will learn:

  • what is safe to change in a range of readymade machines
  • basic tools and process for machine hacking
  • what control circuits are available for sign out in the Fabrication Lab and how to use them

Your readymade machine needs to:

  • either use AAA or AA batteries** that you replace/remove to recharge OR
  • a machine that plugs into the wall

*when hacking a machine, you may not be able to return it to the original state
**we are not covering devices that use built in batteries
