Can I take courses at other campuses?

Students who are pursuing a degree program may take up to 5.0 credits from other UofT campuses (arts and science courses only). First year students may take no more than 1 credit at another campus until they have earned 4.0 credits as a UTSC student.Course enrolment for UTM and St. George courses will open at a later date on ACORN. See the important dates and deadlines listed on the Registrar's Office website for exact dates.

If you are interested in using a course at another campus towards your program requirements, please consult with Urooj Khan (for Food Studies and Women's and Gender Studies; or Heather Seto (for Classical Studies, Global Asia Studies and History; prior to enrolling in the course.

If you intend to complete a course at another campus to fulfill a UTSC breadth requirement, you will need to request to have the course assessed and assigned to one of the 5 UTSC breadth requirement categories by completing The Breadth Requirement Category Request form.

I need a specific course to graduate but it's full, can I get special permission to enroll in the course?

You may request special permission by emailing the course instructor and copying Heather Seto (, and explaining why you require the course. Please note that requesting special permission does not guarantee enrolment in the course. If the request cannot be accommodated, the department will work with you to find an alternative.

I am trying to enroll in a course on ACORN but it's not showing up, why can't I find it?

If you are unable to find a course on ACORN, please check the UTSC Timetable to ensure that the course is being offered. If the course is listed on the UTSC Timetable but is not appear on ACORN for registration, please contact Heather Seto (

I want to contact my course instructor or an instructor for a course I am interested in taking, where can I find their email address?

Please check the course syllabus or Quercus course page for your instructor's email address. Alternatively, you can also connect with them using the inbox tool on Quercus. Instructor contact information can also be found on our faculty and sessional lecturer & course instructor pages.

Why are my program requirements on Degree Explorer different than what is listed in the UTSC Calendar?

Degree Explorer shows the program requirements based on when the program was added, however the UTSC Calendar website shows the latest version of the Calendar, therefore it is likely that the program requirements have been updated since you added the program. If you would like to switch to the latest version, please contact the Registrar's Office to do so.
