Art Side Out (ASO) @ BV Hallway (Front of Bookstore)
Oct 1 @ 11:00 am – 3:30 pm

MoveU, in collaboration with the rest of the Mental Health Network, will be a part of Art Side Out this year! You’ll find us at the BV hallway in front of the Bookstore. Throughout the month of October, MoveU will be in collaboration with the 1 in 5 campaign.

According to CAMH and CHMA, 1 in 5 people in their life time will have some form of mental illness. The 1 in 5 initiative will have their launch date on October 1st, by the Dorris Mcarthy Gallery (in front of the Bookstore). The first project is the Like Yourself event.

At this event, we will be taking Polaroid photos and have you comment with one thing you like about yourself. Our goal is to show each and every student that you only need one person’s validation on how you should feel about yourself and that one person should be you. We hope to see you there!

Show us how you LIKE YOURSELF!

Mental Health Understood Fair @ Meeting Place
Oct 7 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

This year, MoveU will be participating in the Mental Health Understood Fair, supporting Project Semicolon.

This project is a movement dedicated to raising awareness and presenting hope to those who are struggling with depression, suicide, addiction and self-injury. The semicolon is used when an author could have ended his sentence but chose not to. During this month, we’re using the semicolon to show our support for those who chose to continue their life journey.

Project semicolon exists to encourage, love and inspire.

We hope to see you at the Mental Health Understood Fair.

Three Voices- Discovery. Recovery. Hope @ TBD
Oct 28 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

A quiet dancer, a feisty photographer, an idealistic social worker, three strangers, three voices, one certainty- living with mental illness is a lifelong journey. Three Voices is a raw and heart-wrenching documentary about what mental illness really looks and feels like. It is a story about losing your grip on who you are and then rediscovery yourself through art, through self-expression, through compassion for others. All are welcome.
