Lucan Way nominated the Distinguished Professor of Democracy

Congratulations to Professor Lucan Way, who has been awarded the position of Distinguished Professor of Democracy from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028.

Professor Way is one of the world’s foremost experts on democracy – particularly the relationship between democracy and its antithesis, dictatorship. His award-winning research on the topic is widely cited by academics and the popular press, and his advice is sought out by decision-makers around the world. 

Offered by the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life, the Distinguished Professor program recognizes faculty who maintain extraordinary activity in their research and scholarly work and have achieved pre-eminence in their field in line with the University’s objectives and emerging priorities.
