Karina Carneiro

Bio: Dr. Karina Carneiro is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Dentistry, where she leads a multidisciplinary research team investigating mineralized tissue engineering, biomaterials and drug delivery. She is Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in DNA-based biomaterials, and her research is funded by NSERC, CIHR, CFI and ERA grants. She holds a cross-appointment with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and she is the Secretary and Treasurer of the Mineralized Tissues Group at the International Association for Dental Research.
