Dr. Williams will lead us through a thought-provoking conversation that will cover:

• The Social Determinants of Health and the wider set of forces that impact health status and shape the conditions of daily life
• The importance of health equity-based education for healthcare practitioners
• The importance of data collection to address health inequities
• Strategies to influence policy-makers, decision-makers, and funders to prioritize health equity
• Successes and lessons learned in public health and opportunities that exist for us to build more equitable futures moving forward

The author of more than 500 scientific papers, Dr. Williams’ research has enhanced our understanding of the ways in which race, socioeconomic status, stress, racism, health behavior, and religious involvement can affect health.
