In the first Allied Health Speaker Series event of winter semester, we invite you to join Mary Forhan, Associate Professor & Chair in Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, and Scientific Director of Obesity Canada, to learn about careers in occupational therapy.

Speakers

Mary Forhan, PhD is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. Prof. Forhan is a health researcher who applies occupational and rehabilitation science lenses to research focused on bariatric care and rehabilitation, with the goals of reducing the disability experienced by persons living with obesity; improving the quality of care patients with obesity receive; and, reducing the burden of obesity on the healthcare system.  She is the Scientific Director, Obesity Canada and President, Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy University Programs.

Prof. Forhan worked clinically as an occupational therapist for 15 years before starting her PhD. She comes to U of T from University of Alberta, where she served as Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy.
