Magdalyn Asimakis is a Curatorial Assistant and the Monitor of the Marvin Gelber Print & Drawing Study Centre at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and is a contributing writer to the Photography and New Media magazine Blackflash. Magdalyn�s areas of focus are the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly in French modernity, print culture, and 1960s-1980s New York. Her research is rooted in an interest in the relationship between art and the urban landscape.

Ame Henderson (Toronto) stewards the collaborative entity Public Recordings an atelier for choreographic experimentation. Recent research focuses on the political implications of the synchronous gesture and its potential as a collaboratively authored improvisatory practice of togetherness. Limits and Protections for Journalists: Mexico and Human Rights Law
Timmons is a Ju�rez/El Paso-based translator, teacher, critic, writer, and journalist who practices international human rights law. A Latin American regional specialist he concentrates on attacks against the press in modern Mexico. He has published in The Texas Observer, CounterPunch, the Radical History Review, and the Latin American Research Review. He is researching a history of journalism in Ju�rez from 1969 to 2012. Ravi is a multi-award-winning actor, director, producer, educator, curator and Artistic Director of Why Not Theatre. His acting credits include the Dora Award-winning SPENT and A Brimful of Asha. He was recently awarded the 2012 Pauline McGibbon Award, is a resident artist at Soulpepper Theatre Company and is the inaugural Artistic Director-in- Residence at the Theatre Centre for 2013 and was selected to be part of the roster of clowns for Cirque Du Soleil.

Before serving two four-year terms as Director of the Canada Council for the Arts beginning in 2006, Mr. Sirman served for 15 years as co-CEO of Canada's National Ballet School, where he oversaw the school's operations and spearheaded an award-winning $100 million capital expansion program. Mr. Sirman has a strong connection to the University of Toronto, as both a graduate (Sociology MA) and as a former Chair of the Arts Management Advisory Council.

He has also created and hosted two programs for CBC Radio One.�

Chris Abraham is a multi-award winning theatre and film director, dramaturg and teacher who has worked with Canada�s foremost artists and theatres. He will talk about Crow�s Theatre�s upcoming production of The Seagull by Anton Chekhov playing at the Berkeley Street Theatre from January 11 to February 8: what makes this such an important play and what accounts for Chekhov's enduring popularity and interest today. A graduate of the National Theatre School�s directing program, Chris currently works at the Crow�s Theatre as the Artistic Director.

Janet Werner�s paintings focus on the fictional portrait as a vehicle to explore notions of subjectivity and desire. Her work has been exhibited across Canada including solo shows at the Art Gallery of Windsor, SBC Gallery, Montreal, Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver and more. Internationally her work was recently shown in solo presentations in Cape Town, South Africa and Germany.

Sarah Rose Black, a Suzuki music educator, piano accompanist, singer/songwriter and founder/coordinator of the first music therapy programs at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Kensington Hospice in Toronto, her clinical work and research is focused mainly on quality of life for acute palliative care, hematology, and hospice populations. She holds two Masters degree in music education from the University of Toronto, and in music therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Absent Presence: Aboriginal Narratives in Museum Practice
Dr. Nicole Blackwood is a Lecturer in the Material Culture Program at Victoria College. She specializes in art and visual culture from 1400-1700, chiefly the crafts of painting, printmaking, and everyday objects. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and her Honors B.A. from the University of Toronto. She has worked at the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Courtauld Gallery, The Conway Library, and the University of Toronto Art Gallery, and participated in an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
