A unique "across the ocean" musical ensemble, Trio Estonia (Arvo Leibur - violin, Aare Tammesalu - cello, and Norman Reintamm - piano) will bring Estonian music to UTSC and will perform a selection of repertoire written by noted Estonian musicians and composers.

Christine Swintak is a Toronto-based visual artist who works in a number of media including performance, intervention, installation and multimedia. Her projects include building a full scale ship through collective improvisation, running an election party campaign for the Irish underworld, transforming a dumpster into a luxury boutique hotel, and promoting urban quicksand pits to condo developers.

Fall Studio Showcase
Join us for a free exhibition featuring new work by ACM's Studio students. Works created by the students in Alexander Irving's Advanced Seminar: Two-Dimensional Work class will be installed in Gallery 1265 and work from Marla Hlady's Studio Practice class will be installed in the 3rd floor of the Arts & Admin Building. The showcase opens at 5pm with an opening reception to follow at 6pm in Rex's Den. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Kristina Lee Podesva is an artist, writer, educator and editor at Fillip. Her work has been shown internationally at institutions such as Artspeak, Border Gallery, Darling Foundry, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, Tate Modern, Dorsky Gallery, and the Power Plant. She currently teaches in the Curatorial Practice and Masters programs at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco and Emily Carr University of Arts + Design.

Louise Noguchi
Louise Noguchi challenges her audience with themes that pose psychological questions. Using photography, sculpture and other media, Noguchi�s concepts confront the spectator�s notions of identity, perception and reality. She is a professor in the Art and Art History Program, a collaborative joint program between the University of Toronto Mississauga and Sheridan College where she teaches photography and performance-based art. The ACM - Studio Visiting Artist Series is co-produced with the Doris McCarthy Gallery.

Based on the Salem, Massachusetts witch trials of 1692, which resulted in the execution of twenty innocent people, Arthur Miller�s timelessly relevant drama The Crucible explores the tragic effects of mass fear, guilt, suspicion, superstition and private vengeance on a repressed and divided community. The Department of Arts, Culture and Media's Studio students present their work in a special end of year juried studio exhibition. Artwork will be installed in Gallery 1265 and throughout the 3rd floor of the Arts & Administration building and will be juried by Diana Hosseini, Heather Keung, and Mark Dudiak. An awards ceremony and reception will start at 5PM in the Meeting Place (outside of Gallery 1265).
