Caev is an advanced ordering solution that connects users to catering services in the area. It is set up like an online market place, where caterers can post their offerings, and event planners can search for the catering they need.
Here’s how it works: If someone needs catering for an event, he comes in and looks at all the catering offerings and orders through the website. At a previous internship, one of the first tasks co-founders Abdirahman Ali and Noah Joseph had to do was find a caterer for an event, it was one of the hardest things they ever had to do because, not only did they have to find reliable and affordable catering, but there were dietary restrictions important to keep in mind as well. That’s why a big feature of Caev is the search filter. Every user has the option to filter the search for price range, meal type, and dietary restrictions. For example, if you are looking for a vegan lunch, you simply enter that onto the website and you can find catering that caters to that preference.
Throughout the development process, The Hub has been a huge help to Abi and Noah. Initially starting out, they were pretty naive. Even with their experience as business students, they thought it would be a relatively simple process to create and market their product. But ever since their initial pitch at The Hub’s annual Pitch Competition, it has been a constant learning experience for them. The Hub has really helped guide them where they need to focus their energy. “Overall, The Hub has been a great help.”
Through their service, they hope to help smaller catering businesses get noticed and book jobs. Also, on the other side of things, they hope to become the one stop shop for everyone in need of catering for any type of event.
