More than a quarter-century after his Man in Motion World Tour, Rick Hansen, CC, OBC, still knows how to draw a crowd.  On November 25th the Canadian Paralympian and philanthropist visited UTSC, meeting with students, staff, faculty and Canada’s National Wheelchair Basketball team at our new athletics and recreation facility, the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.  

At 50, UTSC has come of age.  The new sports centre represents one of Canada’s largest investments in amateur sports infrastructure, making UTSC one of the country’s most athletically-advanced campuses. A unique partnership by the University and the City of Toronto to share ownership of the facility demonstrates that UTSC is confidently at home in a diverse urban environment, enriching its quality and at the same time drawing life and strength from it.
