How to Apply

Applying to the University of Toronto Scarborough is done online via the OUAC website, using the OUAC 105D Applicant Form if you meet the following requirements:

  • You currently reside in Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents or those currently studying in Canada on a study permit or other visa) OR
  • You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident living elsewhere (not in Canada) AND
  • You are not currently attending an Ontario secondary school in a day program.

Some high schools in Ontario offer opportunities to earn university credit for work you've done in high school. This would include programs such as International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, etc. After you've applied to UTSC, we will automatically determine if you qualify for transfer credits based on your academic performances. General Requirements

The chart below outlines the general admission requirements if you are coming from a province or territory outside of Ontario. Remember that possession of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. In addition to the chart below, the following should also be taken into consideration:

  • Some programs may require specific high school prerequisites and will be outlined in the Programs pages.
  • Proof of adequate English facility may be required when applying. For more details, visit the English Language Facility section of the site.
  • If you are considering applying to programs in Management, Economics or Science programs, we recommend you pay particular attention to the required mathematics preparation.

Alberta and Northwest Territories (Grade 12)
  • High School Diploma
  • Five Grade 12 subjects numbered 30/31 including English Language Arts 30-1or English 30

British Columbia and Yukon (Grade 12)

  • High School Diploma

  • Provincial examinations are required for English 12 or English 12 First Peoples.

  • Calculus & Vectors: Calculus 12 or Calculus AP (AB or BC)
  • Advanced Functions: Principles of Math 12/Pre-Calculus 12

Manitoba (Grade 12)
  • High School Diploma
  • Five Grade 12 academic subjects including English 40S plus three additional 40S level subjects. The remaining credit must be 40S or 40G.
  • Special Language Credits (Challenge subjects) are not acceptable.
  • English: English 40S (Comprehensive/Literary/Transactional Focus)
  • Calculus & Vectors: Pre-Calculus 40S/Calculus AP (AB or BC)

Québec (CEGEP)
  • 12 academic subjects including English/anglais (two terms)
  • Students who have completed more than 12 academic subjects may receive transfer credit in arts, science, business/commerce programs
  • Those who have a complete DEC are likely to be admitted to second year unless entering Engineering
  • The Cote de Rendement (R Score) will be used for admission and scholarship purposes
  • English: 2 semesters of English/anglais
