How to Apply?

The Transitional Year Program at U of T Scarborough will not be accepting applications for September 2024. We will be revisiting and reflecting on the program during this time. Updates will be posted here as they become available. 

If you were interested in applying to our program, we strongly recommend you consider the Transitional Year Programme at U of T St. George. For more information, please see their website: https://typ.utoronto.ca/ 

Please note that the application form should be completed in full in one sitting, but you will have the opportunity to review your responses before submitting. After completion of this online form, you will be required to submit your reference documents.  

Application Checklist.   

The following documents are required when completing the TYP@UTSC application: 

• Any academic transcripts, report cards, certificates, etc.   
• Resume, or listing of work and/or volunteer experience 
• Personal statement which outlines your goals and how the Transitional Year Program may help you with this. You may also choose to discuss any obstacles you’ve faced in pursuing university studies, and why you feel TYP would be a good option for you. This statement could be a written document such as a letter but can also be a video or audio recording if you prefer to use this method of communication. 

Next Steps

Once you have the items in your application checklist, you’re ready to apply for TYP@UTSC.  

• Click the link to access the online TYP@UTSC application form (WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SEPTEMBER 2024), and complete ALL of the questions. Remember, you are not able to save your answers and come back to them later, so we recommend working on your responses in a separate document, then copying and pasting your answers into the application form to submit.   
• You can review our two videos on how to complete your application if you need additional help. Video one has tips on completing your application, and video two gives specific help on completing your statement of intent. 
• After you submit your TYP application, you can send supporting documents such as school transcripts to us by the deadline date via email.  
• Check your email regularly for updates on your application, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
