The UTSC Campus Farm is a a 10-acre brownfield site, dedicated to teaching, research, and community engagement on campus. 5-acres are devoted specifically to teaching and community engagement, and the other 5-acres provide UTSC research faculty and their students an opportunity to carry out research studies. The Teaching Farm includes 30 raised planting beds, an Indigenous garden, and a small orchard. The Farm has successfully grown various edible crops (e.g. tomatoes, kale, garlic, potatoes, herbs, corn, squash, berries , to name a few), medicine, fruits, nuts, and flowers. It also offers lectures, seminars, tutorials, hands-on workshops, summer camp, and guided tours during the growing seasons, making it a truly versatile space.
