International Symposium on Translation Studies for Modern Chinese Literature

The Translation Studies for Modern Chinese Literature symposium aims to initiate research that connects translation studies’ interdisciplinary developments with comparative literature studies with a focus on modern Chinese literature from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Sinophone communities. The symposium’s panels and graduate students’ colloquium will feature a mix of senior and emerging scholars’ research of modern Chinese literature informed by cutting-edge developments in translation studies. The symposium aims to advance scholarship on modern Chinese literature by employing translation studies’ resourceful ties to multiple areas such as affect studies, environment studies, ethnic studies, periodical studies, and artificial intelligence, among others.

The symposium is open to the public. Please email chk.library@utoronto.ca to register.
