Come join us for a captivating evening filled with illuminating research from The Department of Management's very own Tosen Nwadei, Assistant Professor Organizational Behaviour. As always, the night will include good food and stimulating discussions, and inspiring performances. This event offers the chance to forge new connections and participate in empowering conversations centered around the potential for collaboration from an Afro-centric perspective. On May 15, the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites Black-identifying business leaders and professionals to join U of T faculty and staff in the pursuit of building strong connections. Jamii Moja 2024 aims to increase and sustain Black representation and connections made since our inaugural summer session in August 2022. It also aims to help create a positive and long-lasting impact at the university for underrepresented diverse professionals. 

Make connections and learn about classroom and co-curricular opportunities to: 

•    Become a sessional lecturer at U of T Scarborough
•    Mentor students and identify new talent
•    Engage as a guest speaker
•    Launch community-impact projects through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and/or experiential learning (EL)
•    Collaborate in research and teaching initiatives
•    Enhance students’ co-curricular experience

This event is open to professionals, alumni, entrepreneurs, founders, and community members across the GTA who identify as Black, in addition to faculty and administrators from the U of T community. There will be a networking session with food and refreshments.

Tosen Nwadei is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough, with a cross-appointment to the Organizational Behaviour and HR Management area at the Rotman School. His research sits at the intersection of intergroup relations, stigma, and authenticity. Specifically, he investigates the antecedents, consequences, and organizational constraints associated with the expression of racial and ethnic minority identities in predominantly-White settings. Tosen's research has been published in leading academic journals in both psychology and medicine, including the Journal of the American Medical Association and the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.
