Welcome to the Authentic Learning Lab

Authentic Learning Lab (ALL)

The Authentic Learning Lab (ALL) focuses on developing and assessing inclusive educational resources designed to create authentic and immersive learning opportunities for students. Our lab is built on a student-partnership model in which students are welcomed as collaborative partners in the research and teaching process (learn more).

The Authentic Learning Lab (ALL) is led by Dr. Kosha Bramesfeld, Associate Professor, Teaching Stream. Dr. Bramesfeld has a PhD in Social Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. At UTSC, Dr. Bramesfeld teaches undergraduate courses in research methods (PSYB70 and PSYC71), the psychology of prejudice (PSYC12), community and applied social psychology (PSYD10), and current topics in social psychology (PSYD15). Her pedagogical and research interests focus on affective and motivational experiences, immersive teaching and learning, and the psychology of privilege, oppression, and empowerment. At present, her Authentic Learning Lab (ALL) is focused on creating the Game of Social Life, an online game focused on teaching about privilege, oppression, empowerment, and social justice advocacy. In 2021, Dr. Bramesfeld was a recipient of a UTSC Assistant Professors Teaching Award.
