Following an intensive selection process, we’re thrilled to announce Dr. Sidharthan Maunaguru as the inaugural Chair of Tamil Studies at U of T Scarborough.
Hailing from the esteemed National University of Singapore, where he held dual roles as an Associate Professor in Anthropology, jointly appointed with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and South Asian Studies Programme, and former Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Maunaguru comes with a unique blend of scholarly excellence and passionate commitment to the Tamil diaspora. He will assume the role on May 1, 2024.
