March 5 Update

Below are 20 questions which I might include in my interview. Not all of the questions are straight forward questions (i.e. “ How I see Art”). However, they are asked from various different perspective, which can reflect my work. The audience can think about my work in depth from different angles. The questions can also function as links or transitions between senses or works. I didn’t set up all the questions as I will start by asking 3 of my friends to ask me questions so that i can see what kind of things they would like to know about me. I will answer the questions in my mother language (Cantonese).

Questions:

1. How would you describe "Kendy Chan" as a performance artist?

2. To want extent you feel happy and unhappy with "Kendy Chan"?

3. If you got the chance to change/ improve one thing of "Kendy Chan", what would it be? Why?

4. "Adventurous" and "Steady", which word would you choose? Why?

5. In front of you, there is a glass filled with 1/2 water. Would you see it as "Half full" or "Half empty"? Why?

6. What would you do to release your negative feelings?

7. Tell one thing you treasure most.

8. Would you see difficulties as "Challenge" or "Obstacle"? Why?

9. Tell one thing you hate most.

10. If time recedes, would you go the same way? Why?

11. "Lightness" and "Darkness", what would you choose? Why?

12. How do you see natural disaster?

13. Being distinguish but painful, or being mediocre but happy, which do you prefer?

14. Do you go your own way, or follow others' footstep?

15. A good speaker and a good listener, which one is "Kendy Chan”, more likely to be?

16. Enjoy being alone?

17. What's your attitude towards "death"?

18. When something bad happens, do you blame yourself or blame the others first?

19. What is "Kendy Chan" missing to be a good performance artist?

20. How's "Kendy Chan" in the others' point of view?

If you want to know about how your friends think about you, won’t it be better for them to ask their own questions, instead of providing them with your questions?

Why restrict your answers to Cantonese? After all, most of your works were done in Canada in an English speaking environment. Why not include English speaker friends in the questioning?
