People wishing to pursue a graduate degree in my lab have a number of choices. They can pursue a PhD in an interdisciplinary program by enrolling in the Environmental Science PhD offered by Physical and Environmental Science (DPES) at UTSC. DPES also offers a professional Masters degree in Environmental Science a professional degree in Environmental Science, and within this program students can carry out a small research project (4 months in duration), in my lab towards this degree.
I am also cross appointed to the two Biology Departments on the St. George Campus – Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, or Cell and Systems Biology. I can accept Master’s and PhD students into either, depending on the focus of their research and the courses that they wish to take. I can also supervise students in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry if they wish to pursue applied microbiological subjects such as waste treatment.
