Roots of Resiliency

DMG @ Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Curatorial Mentorship Program exhibition

This student-curated exhibition brings together recent works by University of Toronto Scarborough Studio Art Students that reflect on the journey one takes when relocating from one home to another. Exploring themes of intergenerational knowledge, cultural identity, assimilation, dysphoria, and migration, the artists included in this exhibition explore their unique and deeply personal stories of movement, community, and family, demonstrating the resiliency and tenacity that can be found in planting roots in new places. Roots of Resiliency runs to May 9 at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre.

The Doris McCarthy Gallery is now hiring an Education and Outreach Assistant through the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage program! The position will run from September 3, 2024 to March 29, 2025.

The Education and Outreach Assistant will be responsible for researching, developing, and delivering exhibition interpretation; supporting the gallery's marketing and outreach initiatives, with a focus on social media; assisting with gallery programs and exhibition coordination; and monitoring the gallery during public hours.
