There and Back Again: UTSC Studio Faculty Exhibition

Work by Deanna Bowen, Yael Brotman, Adam David Brown, Josh Cleminson, Dave Dyment, Lee Goreas, Francisco-Fernando Granados, Jessica Hein, Marla Hlady, David Hlynsky, Alexander Irving, Will Kwan, Angela Leach, Manolo Lugo, Tanya Mars, Juliana Pivato, Amy Swartz and Evan Tapper

There and Back Again is an exhibition of work by artists associated with the Studio program in the Department of Arts, Culture & Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Featuring painting, drawing, video, sculpture and installation, the exhibition offers the opportunity to learn about the professional practice of those that teach in the Studio program, all of whom regularly exhibit locally, nationally and internationally.

Artist Talk: Adam David Brown

Adam David Brown is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is guided by the principle of “less is more”, and is frequently generated by his interest in science, language and ephemerality. Brown has exhibited work in Canada, Europe, Central America and the United States. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Arts, Culture & Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

Artist Talk: Tanya Mars

Tanya Mars is a feminist performance and video artist who has been involved in the Canadian art scene since 1973. Her work is often characterized as visually rich layers of spectacular, satirical feminist imagery. Mars has performed widely across Canada, as well as internationally in Chile, Mexico City, Sweden, Ireland, France, Poland, China and Finland. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Arts, Culture & Media and the University of Toronto Scarborough and part of the graduate faculty of the Master of Visual Studies Program at the University of Toronto. Mars is the recipient of a 2008 Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts.

Artist Talk: Juliana Pivato

Juliana Pivato is a Toronto-based artist and performer. She has had solo exhibitions at the MacLaren Art Centre (Barrie) and Division Gallery (Montreal) and has been part of numerous group exhibitions in Canada, the United States and Italy. Pivato is a Lecturer in the Department of Arts, Culture & Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
