How do I watch my course lectures?

Please log in at: If your UTORid gives you any trouble, check your UTORid before trying again as in most cases this will resolve the problem. You can also try your UTSCid, which is easily activated using your student card. All the courses that you are enrolled in that use the WebOption service will appear.

Is there a way to download the video files?

The lecture videos are made for online viewing only due to copyright issues and academic intellectual property ownership. It is an offence to redistribute course recordings without the express permission of the course instructor.

Why is the lecture video not loading/not available?

Lectures videos are posted within 24 hours of the live lecture. If the lecture video is not loading after 24 hours from the time the lecture finished, please check your internet connection and reload the page. In some cases you may need to close and reopen your browser. If all else fails please send us an email.

Why is last week’s lecture is not available?

Lecture videos are available according to a schedule determined by the course instructor. Videos will be available for about two weeks and in some cases will remain for the entire semester. Availability can change at any time at the discretion of the course instructor. If you have questions about this policy please contact your instructor.

Where are the Lecture Slides?

Lecture slides accompany the lecture video when they're provided by the course instructor and at the instructor's discretion. Please refer to your course Quercus/Intranet page where you may have access to lecture slides and/or additional course resources.

What is Generate Bookmarks?

Generate bookmarks is a tool that creates a link that will allow you to jump to a specific part of a lecture video for review, comment, or extra help. Bookmarks are not saved by the Lecturecast system. To generate a bookmark while viewing the lecture, click on the "Generate Bookmark" link at the appropriate point in the video, then copy the link that appears right below it and paste it into other documents such as study guides, emails requesting help, citations involving a lecture, etc..

Can I take this course? When is the exam? Where is the course syllabus?

Questions regarding course content should be directed to the appropriate department or course instructor directly. General course information can be found at the Registrar's website.

I enrolled in an LEC60 WebOption Section on ROSI. Do I show up for the first in-class lecture?

No, if you are enrolled in the LEC60 WebOption Section of the course, do not show up for the first in-class lecture. Often those courses with LEC60 WebOption Sections have in-class sections (LEC01/30) that are full and there simply is not enough room in the classroom for the LEC60 registered students to attend. We ask all lecturers using the WebOption to wait until the camera is recording, so you won't miss any information by watching the first lecture online. We also ask the instructors to inform in-class section students about the availability of web-based lectures, and invite these students to watch lectures online if they prefer. Many students will take this option, which opens up space in the lecture room. If the instructor feels there is enough space, he or she has the option of inviting those students in the LEC60 WebOption Section to attend the live lectures if they prefer.

Where can I download Flash Player?

In order to view your WebOption lectures online, it is mandatory to have Adobe Flash Player installed. Download Adobe Flash Player here. If you are experiencing problems installing Adobe Flash Player, please check the list below to make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
