The following teaching assistant positions are available in the Department of Language Studies (formerly Centre for French and Linguistics) at the University of Toronto Scarborough for the Summer 2023 academic session. The jobs are posted in accordance with the Collective Agreement between The Governing Council of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3902 (Unit 1).

Appointment Dates:
Summer F term: May 6, 2023 - June 30, 2024
Summer S term: June 24, 2023 - August 30, 2024

In accordance with the currentCUPE3902 collective agreement, the rate of pay applicable for T.A. classifications UG/SGSI/SGSII will be: $51.93 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications

Upper-level francophone student. Knowledge of International Phonetic Alphabet. Experience with teaching French phonetics or teaching tutorials in FREA96H3 or FREA97H3.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous involvement with FREA96H3 or FREA97H3 during the last three years preferred

Relevant Criterion

Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.

Duties

Marking compositions and recordings on SpeedGrader, leading language practice tutorials, and contributing to the database of our electronic exercises.
Tutorials will be taught hybrid (some in person, some online).
