Drop-in sessions are held in the Fall and Winter terms Monday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon. In the summer, they are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 12 noon.
Drop-ins are good for getting started on some writing, short assignments, quick questions about something specific (e.g. thesis statements, referencing), and non-academic work (e.g. Personal Statements).
If you are a student starting in September, you can bring one of your high school assignments to drop-ins and get a personalized assessment of your readiness for university writing, plus some advice on how best to prepare.
To be sure you can get a drop-in, we recommend you come to AC210 right at 10am, or a few minutes before. We do everything we can to see everyone who is here early. If you come later, we may be able to fit you in and we may not, depending on how busy we are.
Drop-in sessions are only twenty minutes long so come with a focused question and prioritize. You will leave having learned something useful.
Note that if you have a booked 50-minute tutorial that same day, you will not be able to sign up for a drop-in. You can come to a drop-ins up to three (3) times a week.
