Black Student Engagement

Students talking

Black Student Engagement is a program that supports and provides connections to services, people and cultivates a sense of belonging and community. We want to help you navigate barriers to access and inclusion. We are part of Student Life Programs within the Office of Student Experience & Wellbeing. We want to give space for social, academic, global issues.

Our Vision

Black Student Engagement is committed to building a strong community on campus that will encourage the success and engagement of students that identify as Black/African/Caribbean descent. We will provide safe spaces where students can meet, share, socialize and access specialized support and services.

Our Purpose

To increase engagement and connect Black students to programs, people and resources that will nurture their social, academic, personal and professional growth. Our programs focus on building a sense of belonging and safety at The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) campus.

Our Values

To create spaces for students to be success minded, create inclusivity within the UTSC community and encourage personal development that leads to high achievement.

If you just want a space to meet come to RM HW 308 every Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
