Due to ongoing changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic, dates are subject to changes. All updates will be reflected here with the date of change noted, please check key dates.

There are three academic sessions: Fall Session (September to December), Winter Session (January to April) and Summer Session (May to August). 2021 Fall Session

Sept. 6 Labour Day, University closed
Sept. 7 Classes begin in F and Y courses

Sept. 11 

Contingency Exam Date for Summer 2021 (first Saturday after the session begins)
Sept. 20 Last day for students writing deferred examinations in December to adjust their current course load
Sept. 20 Last day to add F and Y courses
Oct. 11 Thanksgiving Day. University closed
Oct. 9 - Oct. 15 Reading Week (Classes may be held on other campuses)
Nov. 14 - Feb. 14 Confirm intention to graduate at the 2022 Spring Convocation
Nov. 22 Last day to drop F courses without academic penalty and have them removed from the transcript
Dec. 6 Last day to add or remove the CR/NCR mode of assessment (on ACORN) for an F section course (Click here to read more)
Dec. 6 Last day to drop UTSC F courses on eService and have them remain on the transcript with a grade of LWD indicating withdrawal without academic penalty. After this date, grades are recorded on transcripts whether course work is completed or not (with a '0' assigned for incomplete work) and they are calculated into GPAs (Click here to read more)
Dec. 6 Last day of classes and last day for submission of term assignments in F courses

*Every effort will be made to avoid Sunday exams. If need be, exams may be scheduled in the afternoon and/or evening. Contingency dates will only be used if necessary because of weather or another unforeseen circumstance.

Winter 2022 Session

Jan. 6 - Jan. 8* Contingency Exam Dates for Fall 2021
