Defer Academic Suspension | Office of the Registrar

We understand that being on academic suspension is unwelcomed news. It is imperative for you to know that you have the full support of the University at this time, and we would like for you to use this time to seriously consider and work through the circumstances that led to your suspension. We advise you to take the time to evaluate your circumstances, and work on improving them so that you may return to your studies stronger, and ready to work towards good academic standing.

Students who are working closely with an Academic & Learning Strategist at the Academic Advising & Career Centre are required to discuss their suspension before submitting this type of petition. While these requests are seldom granted, we advise that you:

Provide a good explanation for the circumstances that led to your suspension.
Demonstrate improvement to the aforementioned circumstances, and justify the likelihood that this improvement has and will have if you are granted the opportunity to return to your studies early.
