Absence Declaration in ACORN
The University of Toronto is continuing to address academic absences during COVID-19. Procedures are subject to change as new information becomes available. We encourage students to stay home if they feel unwell and continue to check public health advisories and the University of Toronto’s website.
If you are absent from class or unable to complete any other term work, you are responsible for contacting your instructors to request the accommodations you are seeking. With advice from your instructor or department, you may also use the ACORN Absence Declaration Tool for missing academic activity for any reason (e.g. COVID, other illness or injury, family situation) and require consideration for missed academic work.
The tool can be found in the ACORN Profile and Settings menu and you are required to declare your absence daily up until the day before you return to classes or other academic activities. The University will use this information in considering academic accommodation and to monitor overall absences.
