Sophia Jiang

Sophia Jiang is the Director of Finance at the Political Science Students’ Association (PSSA). In her fourth year of undergraduate studies, Sophia majors in political science with minors in international developmental studies (IDS) and sociology. Her academic focus lies in international relations and comparative politics, with a keen interest in gender studies and its effects on marginalized communities. For the past three years, Sophia has held the esteemed position of Co-President at the Best Buddies UTSC Chapter—a remarkable club devoted to fostering meaningful connections between UTSC students and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Additionally, Sophia has co-founded a small business, SZScrochet, with her mother and sister-in-law by making handmade crochet crafts available on Etsy, TikTok, and Instagram. Sophia's four-year role in PSSA reflects her passion for engagement and service, allowing her to connect with a diverse UTSC community. Her involvement has enriched her worldly knowledge through interactions with peers, faculty, and professors. She particularly enjoys PSSA's social career networking event, offering connections across the department, school, and professions. Guided by these diverse experiences, Sophia aspires to pursue a legal education in law school and envisions a legal career.
