Biography

Oded Oron Ph.D (University of Washington) 

Oded Oron is the Israel Institute Teaching Fellow in Political Science and Jewish Studies. He specializes on Forced Migration and Social Movements and completed research on African migrants mobilizing in Israel as well as undocumented migrant movements in the United States. In Israel, Oded worked in the Israeli media in leading outlets like YNET News and Ha’aretz, and as a Senior Manager for Israel’s Government Press Office. Prior to moving to Toronto, he worked as the Assistant Director of Cornell Hillel and currently serves as the Manager of Data, Research, and Evaluations at JIAS Toronto – a settlement agency supporting newcomers. In 2021, he completed his certification as a regulated Immigration Consultant in Canada.
